Note: Due to scheduling conflicts, the April and June meetings will be on the 3rd Friday of the month.
Accessing the Carmack Conference Room: As you enter the library, turn to your left, and you will see a set of double doors on the far wall. That is the Carmack Conference Room. We will ask members to assist in setting up chairs, and then putting them away at the end of the meeting. We will be using our own computer and projector systems.
Next Meeting: Friday, April 18th, 2014, 1:30 PM
Topic: Word & Excel: Tips and Tricks to Make Your Life Easier
As obvious as much of Word and Excel are, there are still many “not so obvious” techniques in both programs, which, if known, can make life so much easier. We will explore a number of these briefly and then provide an opportunity for questions about how to do tasks in Word and Excel, as well as an opportunity for participants to share their knowledge ( no one can know everything that these programs do; we all have so much to learn!) ~ Bob Schubert has been working with various facets of computers for many years. After working for IBM as a Marketing Representative, he became Director of Data Processing at Bethany Medical Center and installed their first computer system. More recently he has taught, for a number of years, personal computer software programs, as an adjunct instructor at many colleges and universities in the metropolitan area, focusing mainly on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. After retiring from UMKC where he taught Microsoft Office to faculty and staff, Bob moved to Penn Valley Community College where he teaches 9 credit hours of Microsoft Office per semester.
There will be a drawing for door prizes afterwards.
Our Annual Meeting is set for Friday, May 9th, 2014, at Lakeview Village, 9100 Park St., Lenexa, KS, with a presentation by the Computer Guys, Tom O’Brien and George Costello. Invitations will go out to our members in April. You must RSVP the invitation so we will know how much food to order.
